"Fire District #1 of Johnson County covers 200 square miles of area in northeast Kansas.  We currently protect around 40,000 residents and that number is growing due to the new BNSF Intermodal and Logistics KC Park. Along with covering cities and rural territory, FD1 is a certified wildland operations department where members can be deployed across the United States to assist in major events.
