*Defiance and Champion were the first two hose companies formed in 1882. Throughout EFD history Engine 2 has carried the Champion name and Engine 1 has carried the Defiance name. The current Engine 1 is named Chief Lang and after the retirement of Hose 1 a 1975 ALF Century pumper the Defiance name was moved to Quint 1.
