
"Independence Fire/EMS is a progressive department in the heart of Southeast Kansas that serves the northeastern portion of Montgomery County with fire suppression and Advanced Life Support emergency medical care. The department is comprised of 25 fire personnel and the Public Safety Director. We respond to around 2,500 incidents per year. The Department Chief commands: 3 Captains, 21 Firefighters/EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics.
