Butler County Rescue Squad

Butler County Rescue Squad is a combination paid/volunteer group of professionals who specialize in various aspects of rescue service. They provide service to the largest county (sq. mles) in Kansas which covers 1,446 square miles with a population of 63,147.

The rescue squad service includes vehicle extrication, water rescue and recovery, swift water rescue, confined space rescue, high-angle/low-angle rescue, dive operations, disaster response, and other aspects of emergency response. The rescue squad operates under the administration of Butler County Emergency Medical Service and is made up of a primary unit in El Dorado and satellite units operated by fire districts in Andover, Augusta, Rose Hill, and Douglass.
