The Edwardsville Fire Department protects an area of roughly nine square miles and five thousand people. They operates three shifts with a Chief and Deputy Chief, 15 full-time, eight part-time, and three volunteer firefighters. Their station was built in 1989 and the crews cross staff the engine and the quint. EFD started providing EMS in 2014.
