"The Olpe Fire Department is located in southern Lyon County KS. Fire District #1 covers the south west portion of Lyon County. In addition to protecting the City of Olpe and Fire District #1, they also provide mutual aid with all fire departments in Lyon County and to any agency that needs assistance. Olpe Fire Department has 20 firefighters, E.M.T. and Paramedics, both men and women, actively serving the department.  They respond to more than 100 calls per year ranging from fires, vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, rescues, and public service calls." - Department Website
