"The Salina Fire Department provides fire protection, emergency medical services, rescue and hazardous materials services to the citizens of Salina. Rescue and emergency medical services are extended into Saline County by governmental agreement.
The fire department is comprised of ninety five employees. Eighty four of the ninety five employees are spread across three shifts that work 24 hours at a time. Shift change is at 0800 each morning. The remaining eleven positions provide administrative, support, and fire prevention services.
Each year the fire department responds to more than 2000 fire related emergencies and 5000 EMS or medical related emergencies." - Salina Fire Department Facebook Page
